AHA BLS Provider
Course Description: The Basic Life Support – BLS Provider certification course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. Audience: This BLS for Healthcare provider course is for healthcare professionals who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings. Class Time: Approximately 4 Hours Certification: AHA BLS Provider Certification Card is valid for two years. |
AHA Heartsaver CPR & AED
Course Description: Heartsaver CPR certification- Heartsaver CPR /AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult CPR and AED use, as well as how to relieve choking on an adult. This course also teaches the optional modules in child CPR and AED use and infant CPR, including child and infant choking. The Heartsaver® CPR AED course teaches skills with AHA’s research-proven Practice-While-Watching (PWW) technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback and guide the students’ learning of skills. Audience: This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR certification and AED use to meet job, regulatory or other requirements. Class Time: Approximately 3 Hours Certification: AHA Heartsaver CPR & AED Course Certification Card is valid for two years. |
AHA Heartsaver First Aid
Course Description: Heartsaver® First Aid is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies. Audience: This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in First Aid to meet job, regulatory or other requirements. Class Time: Approximately 3 Hours Certification: AHA First Aid Course Certification Card is valid for two years. This course can be combined with the AHA Heartsaver CPR & AED Program.

AHA Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS®)
Course Description: Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS®) is a classroom, instructor-led course that helps healthcare providers develop the knowledge and skills needed for emergency evaluation and treatment of seriously ill infants and children. PEARS teaches providers how to recognize respiratory distress, shock and cardiac arrest, and provide appropriate lifesaving interventions within the initial minutes of response until the child is transferred to an advanced life support provider. The goal of PEARS is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured infants and children, resulting in improved outcomes. Audience: PEARS is for healthcare providers such as emergency medical technicians (EMTs), medical and surgical nurses, school nurses and any other healthcare provider who infrequently sees critically ill infants and children. Class Time: Approximately 8 Hours Certification: AHA PEARS® Course Certification Card is valid for two years. Education Credit: This course is approved for 8 Elective CEUs for NJ EMTs. |
AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Course Description: The Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider Course is designed for healthcare providers who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies. Through didactic instruction and active participation in simulated cases, the student will enhance their skills in the recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest, immediate post arrest, acute dysrhythmia, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes. Audience: ACLS is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units such as physicians, nurses, and paramedics, as well as others who need an ACLS course completion card for job or other requirements. Class Time: Initial Course: Approximately 16 Hours Update Course: Approximately 8 Hours Certification: AHA ACLS Provider Certification Card is valid for two years. |
AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Course Description: PALS is a classroom, video-based, Instructor-led course that uses a series of simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation and team dynamics. Audience: The AHA’s PALS Course is for healthcare providers who either direct or participate in the management of respiratory and/or cardiovascular emergencies and cardiopulmonary arrest in pediatric patients. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care, and critical care units such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, and others who need a PALS course completion card for job or other requirements. Class Time: Initial Course: Approximately 16 Hours Update Course: Approximately 8 Hours Certification: AHA PALS Provider Certification Card is valid for two years. |
